This time, completely different landscapes will open up to the rogaining participants: Jugla, Šmerļa and Pļavnieku forests, where the participants will be able to reach the largest thermal power plant in Latvia, TEC-2 and Ulbrokai. As always, the territory of Riga Rogaining will be diverse and participants will be able to get to know it from previously unseen viewpoints. The organizers invite everyone to participate in the event, including those who are afraid of the special markings on the map. The Riga Rogaining map is designed so that participants can also navigate along roads, streets and buildings - similar to how it is when using the popular navigation applications Waze or Google maps. The trick is to plan your route to collect as many points as possible in 2, 4 or 6 hours.

"Orienteering and outdoor activities are becoming more and more popular leisure activities, not only for people who have a sedentary lifestyle, but also for families with children, for whom being together gains even more value if it is able to unite all interests. Seeing how active and enthusiastic rogaining participants are, how much joy it gives them to explore the neighborhood, which they might run past every day, flashing by the window of a vehicle, t/c Alfa also supports Riga this year autumn rogaining event. We are glad to be able to promote the cohesion of the local community and get to know the objects in the neighborhood in a healthy and exciting way!" says t/c Alfa driver Liene Apine.

Absolutely everyone is welcome to the Riga autumn rogaining, which is the final stage of the Riga Rogaining of this season - both athletes, whose core consists mainly of orienteers, supporters of an active lifestyle, as well as those who like to move in the fresh air, because rogaining is a very democratic activity in which anyone can try themselves. Firstly, the participants can choose the distance that suits their abilities and, secondly, they have the opportunity to collect as many checkpoints as they deem necessary. In addition, only two members are enough in a team. Past participants will confirm that the thrill of searching for checkpoints is guaranteed.

"We are still trying to please the participants with new things and place the names of the most interesting places on the maps, where it would be worth returning again after the competition. We are sure that, for example, the names of the bends of the Biķernieki track “Ģenerālis”, “Smilšu kalns”, “Raganu katls” are known only by a few. We are sure that the participants will come to the same conclusion as us, that Riga is much bigger, more beautiful and interesting than it seemed until now," comments the race leader Jānis Vanags on the news of the competition.

On November 9, Rogaining will start at t/c “Alfa”, in the parking lot towards Shmerļa Street. Participants will start the distance at different times - at 11:00 a.m. start will be given to 6h teams, at 12:00 - 4h for teams, but right in the middle of the day, at At 13:00, the starting shot will be heard by the 2h teams, rogaining walk and rogaining run participants.

Rogaining is a team orienteering sport that originated in Australia. Its name is formed from combining the names of the three inventors of the sport. Participation in rogaining distances takes place in teams of 2 to 4 participants, and the most significant difference from classic orienteering is the possibility for each team to choose the distance length and route by itself, collecting checkpoints with different values.

Detailed information about the competition and registration is available on the website www.rigasrogainings.lv. The competition is offered by Riga City Council, supported by Isostar, t/c Alfa, Garmin, Laima Better4U, Baltais.
