On Saturday, May 11, the Olaine rogaining took place for the third year in a row in Olaine, which gathered more than 600 participants - both local orienteering and cycling activists, as well as city guests from all over Latvia, who came to explore the surroundings of Olaine - the city, forests, meadows and swamps. The winners of the competition's longest distance – 6-hour rogaining, for the second year in a row, were the boys' duo from the “NAIDS” team, who collected 153 points.

This year, the start of the competition was given at the Jaunolaine sports house. In the previous two years, Olaine rogaining took place in the west of the highway, but this year both the competition center and the distance will be in the northeast of Olaine. "The competition area between Jaunolaini and Plakanciems is really flat in space, but in time - it was able to captivate like a roller coaster. Deeper in the woods - zigzag trenches and underground bunkers told the participants how many times more extreme things were here for our Latvian archers 100 years ago. And then a little deeper - in the swamp, the participants found the checkpoint they were looking for, to which they had to use cunning and to come up with your own strategy, to reach the highest surface point of the county, or the 1st step of the podium," says the author of the distance Reinis Bērziņš. It should be mentioned that the participants of the distance had to go after the checkpoints not only across swamps, through forests and meadows, but also to swim across an oil-based reservoir in a boat in order to reach them as quickly as possible.
