The restrictions introduced by Covid-19 have decreased, and thus there has been an opportunity to move the date of the event to July 11, on the Olaines Mežaparka stage, to hold the fourth Olaine rogaining, within which runners, cyclists and checkpoint seekers will orient themselves. In this year's Olaine rogaining, participants are offered 2h, 4h, and Isostar 6h distances, as well as a 14-16km rogaining run.

Olaine rogaining is included in the new rogaining series “Pilsētas leģendas”, as the second stage. “Pilsētas leģendas” is a compilation of Latvia's biggest rogaining events and where you can fight for the overall ranking of the season with the conclusion in Riga on November 7.

"In Pērn Olaines rogaining, you could put yourself in the shoes of German, Russian, Latvian and Soviet riflemen, storming checkpoints hidden in trenches and carabazas on a map that looked like a stitched together tapestry from before the war to the present day. This year we will move to the Forest Park of the city of Olaine, from where we will go westward to Cena tirel, where we will not be able to get through with prehistoric maps. a new and delicate orientation map has been drawn, where almost every acacia and the devil living in it will be marked." this is how the organizers of the competition describe this year's Olaine stage.

As always, Olaine's rogaining area will be diverse and participants will be able to get to know it from previously unseen viewpoints. The organizers invite everyone to participate in the event, including those who are afraid of the special markings on the map. The competition map is designed in such a way that the participants can also navigate along roads, streets and buildings - similar to how it is when using the popular navigation applications Waze or Google maps. The trick is to plan your route to collect as many points as possible in 2, 4 or 6 hours.

Uz Olaines rogaining is welcomed by absolutely everyone - both athletes, whose core consists mostly of orienteers, supporters of an active lifestyle, and also those who like to move in the fresh air, because rogaining is a very democratic activity in which anyone can try themselves. Firstly, the participants can choose the distance that suits their abilities and, secondly, they have the opportunity to collect as many checkpoints as they deem necessary. In addition, only two members are enough in a team. Past participants will confirm that the thrill of searching for checkpoints is guaranteed.

Rogaining is a team orienteering sport that originated in Australia. Its name is formed from combining the names of the three inventors of the sport. Participation in rogaining distances takes place in teams of 2 to 4 participants, and the most significant difference from classic orienteering is the possibility for each team to choose the distance length and route by itself, collecting checkpoints with different values.

Detailed information about the competition and registration is available on the website www.olainesrogainings.lv. The competition is offered by Olaine council, supported by Isostar, Magnesia, Visualmedia.
