The eighth Riga Rogaining on 24 March at Alfa shopping centre
A month after the Olympic Games in PyeongChang and a week before Easter, the popular and increasingly popular Riga Rogaining's new competition season will be opened. On March 24, the eighth Rīga rogaining will take place at the "Alfa" shopping park, where runners and checkpoint seekers from Latvia and other countries will orient themselves in the city area.

In this year's spring rogaining, participants are offered t/p Alfa 2h, Isostar 4h and Garmin 6h distances, as well as a 7-10km rogaining run. As usual, children will have a free walk accompanied by cartoon characters.
If the autumn rogaining of Riga connects with Pārdaugava, then the spring rogaining takes place on the other side of the Daugava. This time the start and finish will be at t/p “Alfa”. Therefore, rogaining participants will be able to enjoy unprecedented areas such as Ķīšezer, Baltezer and Jugla lake, while in the city part they will get to see Jugla, Mežciem, Teikas and other neighboring districts. As always, the territory of Riga spring rogaining will be diverse and participants will be able to get to know it from unseen viewpoints.
Everyone is welcome at the Riga spring rogaining, which will be one of the two centenary rogainings of the country - both athletes, whose core consists mainly of orienteers, supporters of an active lifestyle, and also those who like to move in the fresh air, because rogaining is a very democratic activity in which anyone can try themselves, because, firstly, the participants can choose a distance suitable for their abilities and, secondly, they accumulate so many checkpoints during the distance. as they consider necessary. In addition, only two members are enough in a team. Past participants will confirm that the thrill of searching for checkpoints is guaranteed.
The start will take place next to the parking lot “Alfa” towards Šmerļa Street. Participants will go the distance in two times - at 11:00 start will be given to 6h and 4h hour teams, but right in the middle of the day at At 12:00, the starting shot will be heard by the 2h teams, rogaining walk and rogaining run participants.
Every year, Riga Rogaining with orientation in different areas of our country's capital is becoming more and more popular, and the number of participating families is also increasing. Each time, the number of participants is measured in a number that can be written with four digits, because every time the competition gathers more than a thousand domestic and foreign orienteering enthusiasts. Among the participants, you can see friends, families, institutions or corporate groups. If in rogaining distances the participants take part in teams, each of which must be no less than two, but no more than four, then everyone can participate individually in the rogaining race. The vast majority will enjoy the competition in a calm pace and atmosphere, but the athletes' pulses will be very high in the fight for victories and prize-winning places.
