Riga Night Rogaining takes place this Saturday
Already this Saturday, a great, exciting and sporty night adventure will take place in Riga - the Great Riga xRace adventure and night rogaining. This is one of the most exciting adventures to be enjoyed right here in the city, because the checkpoints of the competition are located in the area around the Ethnographic Open-Air Museum of Latvia, thus the participants have the opportunity to navigate the city environment, as well as look for adventures in the forest areas. It should be noted that the competition gathers more and more orientation and active lifestyle supporters every year. It is a great way to spend a holiday with family, friends or colleagues.

The fact that it will take place in the first half of the evening/night makes the event particularly exciting and full of adventures. The first, and also the longest - 6h Garmin and Rogaining walking distances will start at 18:00 in the evening. The participants of the longest distance will reach the finish line around midnight and the award ceremony will take place today in a romantic and maybe even a little spooky moonlight. On the other hand, the value of X-points will be significantly increased for the xRace adventure distance, so that participants have the opportunity to visit the most interesting places. In the future, we will continue to look for even more interesting places for X-points, where it will not be enough to just mark, for example, at the corner of the building, but you will also have to climb, dive, swim somewhere and ask for adventures yourself. The involvement of strategy in the xRace distance will definitely be necessary. Rogaining distance runners, on the other hand, must be prepared to find checkpoints that may be hidden in unusual places.
On Saturday, the participants will start in several distances: Children's walk accompanied by experienced instructors, which lasts 2 hours and is intended for children up to the age of 12 (inclusive). This is now a great opportunity to introduce your little family members to the world of orienteering and show them that you can go on fantastic adventures in nature together with your parents. The other participants will go on distances of different lengths: 2h Better4U, 4h Isostar and 6h Garmin, in which you have to collect as many points as possible after planning your strategy. Individual participants will perform a rogaining run “O-RUN” of approximately 14km, where the runners will have to visit the indicated checkpoints. Also, in addition to the Rogaining distances, the xRace adventure will take place, where checkpoints will have to be searched not only on foot and bicycle, but also with the help of boats.

Absolutely everyone is invited to join the competition: professional athletes and orienteering enthusiasts who are already masters of this competition, as well as lovers of an active lifestyle and also simply active people who like to spend their free time in the fresh air and being active.This is a great opportunity to enjoy Riga in a different light and get to know new adventures together with friends, colleagues or family members.
We are pleased and proud that the event is becoming more and more popular every year. Every time the number of participants is measured in four digits, because domestic orienteering enthusiasts, companies of friends, company groups, families with children, people who love sports and active recreation and also, of course, foreign orienteering enthusiasts come to the competition.
