Legend Rogaining comes to Mercendarbe in mid-August

Original publication date: 20.07.2026

In mid-August, Legend Rogaining continues in Mercendarbe, once again offering participants a new area to explore. The event centre will be at Mercendarbe Manor, while the course will include Riekstukalns, familiar to winter sports enthusiasts, the rugby town of Baldone, Rozītes and other locations. On a hot day, there will also be opportunities to cool off, with Kausu and Lejas lakes within the event area.

In Mercendarbe, where the old manor's whispered legends can still be heard at the forest edges, barons' servants and mysterious guardians of the quiet lakes are said to have once lived. According to local tales, they moved paths and roads at night to confuse outsiders. The old manor's cellars hold stories of lost maps and mysterious footsteps that disappear without a trace. During Legend Rogaining, participants will encounter not only marked places in the landscape, but also the feeling that Mercendarbe Forest watches every choice and tests an orienteer's courage and intuition.

Participants can choose a 2h, 4h or 6h course in teams of 2–5, or a 2h solo rogaine. Cyclists can take on the familiar 3h MTBO course. Younger children can join an experienced instructor for a children's walk, visiting a few checkpoints.

In rogaining, participants plan their own route to visit as many checkpoints and collect as many points as possible within the time limit. Strategic thinking must be combined with physical endurance. This form of orienteering offers enjoyment for experienced competitors and outdoor enthusiasts alike.

The organisers have prepared an especially generous prize pool this year. The event is organised by XEvents with support from Ķekava Municipality and Intervals.lv. See you at the event! Registration and further information: rogainings.lv.
