The race distance will take place in a unique race area that combines forest and city. According to the author of the competition map, the competition area will include the pine silos on the banks of Buļļupe and Lielupe, the wild Spilve meadows, the green forests of Imanta, the concrete jungles of the residential areas of Imanta, Ķīpsala, Ilģuciem, Bolderāja, as well as the labyrinths of small gardens on the banks of the Daugava. Movement in the distance will take place on foot - walking or running.
Although the length of the classic rogaining is 24 hours, the competition also takes place with shorter time limits - in Riga Rogaining, the strongest participants will have a 6-hour time limit and a 4-hour time limit, while families with children will have a 2-hour time limit. This year, a free Rogaining walk has been specially created for children - a 2-hour point search game with an instructor. At the finish, each participant will be greeted with a warm lunch, but after the finish, the participants will participate in a prize draw, and will also be able to settle in with lunch and drinks.
Riga Rogaining is an orienteering sports team competition, where teams of 2-5 people visit checkpoints located in the city and in the forest in a freely chosen order during a certain period of time, trying to collect as many points as possible. At the same time, Riga Rogaining will be the first stage of the Latvian Rogaining Cup.
The competition is offered by the Riga City Council and the Education, Culture and Sports Department of the Riga City Council.
